Commercial photography for businesses, people and places across Hitchin

I provide commercial photography in Hitchin for businesses, organisations and professionals who need natural, polished images for websites, marketing, PR, recruitment, property listings and social media.

Having spent ten years living and working in Hitchin, I have photographed local businesses, offices, properties, people and venues throughout the town. Those assignments have ranged from creating a complete photography and video library for a new hospitality business to photographing serviced offices, professional portraits, fitness imagery and residential property.

Most of my work is completed on location. I bring professional cameras, portable lighting and backup equipment to your office, venue, property or other working environment, so you do not need to travel to a studio.

Commercial photography services in Hitchin

Commercial photography should give you useful images rather than a disconnected collection of attractive photographs. Before a shoot, I will ask how and where the finished images will be used so that we can plan the right combination of people, places, details and formats.

My work in Hitchin includes:

Projects can combine several of these requirements. For example, one commercial shoot might include team portraits, people at work, office interiors, branded details, and wider website images. Planning them together normally produces a more consistent and versatile image library.

Recent photography projects in Hitchin

The most useful evidence of experience is completed work. These are some of the different assignments I have photographed in and around Hitchin.

Commercial photography and video for Meow Lounge

Shortly after Meow Lounge opened in The Arcade in Hitchin, I was commissioned to create photography and video for its website and social media.

The brief involved much more than photographing the café interior. The business needed images showing the venue, customers interacting naturally with the cats, individual cats, food and drink, signage, branding and the exterior location.

The finished library included more than 50 edited photographs and three completed website videos. A year later, the content was still being used across the business’s online presence.

The venue presented several practical challenges. Its mixture of darker areas and strong artificial lighting required careful exposure, while the glass frontage reflected the surrounding arcade. I returned for a second visit with a polarising filter and a large black backdrop to reduce those reflections and produce cleaner exterior photographs.

Office photography for Eastway Enterprise Centre

For Eastway Enterprise Centre, I photographed eight serviced office spaces across two buildings in Hitchin. The aim was to create a consistent set of bright, accurate photographs for property listings, the website and wider marketing.

Commercial interiors need to look inviting without appearing misleadingly large or bright. I kept vertical lines controlled, balanced the window light with the interiors, and photographed each room consistently so that potential tenants could easily compare the spaces.

The completed collection gave the client a more coherent library covering private offices, meeting rooms and shared working environments.

“Lee took some photos of a range of offices we were looking to let. The resulting images were really great and made the offices look amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lee.”

On-location portraits and fitness photography

I created a set of fitness portraits for Rory at Body Ethics Gym in Hitchin. The gym was being used normally rather than converted into a permanent studio, so I brought portable off-camera lighting and adapted the setup to the available space.

This kind of location shoot can produce studio-quality results in a client’s real environment. It is particularly useful for personal trainers, coaches, founders and other professionals who want their images to show what they actually do rather than relying only on a conventional headshot.

I also photographed a separate outdoor headshot session for Rory, creating a varied set of professional and relaxed portraits for LinkedIn, social media and dating profiles.

Property and aerial photography in Hitchin

My Hitchin property work has included photographing a bungalow for a homeowner who was unhappy with the original exterior images supplied for the listing.

I photographed the building from ground level and used aerial imagery to show the corner plot, garden, and the relationship between the property and its surroundings. The objective was to improve the presentation without misrepresenting the home.

For suitable properties, combining professional exterior photography with aerial images helps potential buyers or tenants understand the building and its setting more clearly than ground-level photographs alone.

How does an on-location commercial shoot work?

Most commercial photography assignments can take place at your business, venue or property. A typical project follows four stages.

1. Understanding the brief

I will ask what needs to be photographed, where the images will appear, who will use them and when they are required. A website banner needs a different composition from a LinkedIn post, press image or printed brochure, so intended use affects how the photographs should be created.

2. Planning the shoot

We will agree the location, timings, priorities and the people or spaces that must be covered. For a larger assignment, I can help turn your requirements into a practical shot list without making the session feel rigid or over-directed.

3. Photography on location

I bring professional cameras, portable lighting and backup equipment. I provide clear direction when it is helpful while allowing staff, customers and business activity to look natural.

4. Editing and delivery

The selected photographs are professionally edited and delivered through a private online gallery. Your quote will explain the agreed delivery time and image usage before the booking is confirmed.

How much does commercial photography in Hitchin cost?

My current starting prices are:

  • Individual professional headshots from £149
  • Corporate headshots and small-team sessions from £249
  • Half-day corporate and commercial photography from £499
  • Full-day corporate and commercial photography from £799

The final price depends on the length and complexity of the shoot, the number of people or locations, travel, delivery deadlines and how the photographs will be used. Larger projects, multiple locations and ongoing requirements are quoted individually.

Your quote will clearly explain the photography, editing, delivery and agreed image usage. There should not be unexpected licensing additions after the work has been completed.

Why work with me?

I have more than 16 years of professional photography experience, including nine years as Global Photography Manager at TUI and four years as Photography and Digital Asset Manager at the Royal Horticultural Society.

That background means I understand photography from both sides of the brief. I have created imagery, commissioned other photographers, worked with marketing and communications teams and managed large image libraries. I therefore consider how photographs will be selected, organised, licensed and reused as well as how they look.

My clients and employers have included TUI, the RHS, BBC, Marks & Spencer, McDonald’s and businesses of every size. I hold public liability and professional indemnity insurance and carry backup photography equipment on commissioned shoots.

Frequently Asked Questions – Photographer in Hitchin

What types of photography do you provide in Hitchin?

Do you have a photography studio in Hitchin?

No. Most of my work takes place at the client’s workplace, venue or property using portable professional lighting where needed. If a studio is preferable, I regularly use studios outside Hitchin and can recommend an appropriate option.

How quickly will I receive the photographs?

Standard delivery is normally within a few working days, depending on the size of the assignment. Faster delivery and selected same-day images may be available for PR, events or urgent communications if agreed in advance.

Can you help us decide which photographs we need?

Yes. Tell me where the images will be used and what your organisation needs to communicate. I can help develop a practical brief covering the most useful people, activities, locations, details and image formats.

Are the photographs licensed for business use?

The agreed usage will be stated clearly in your quote. Corporate commissions will commonly cover the client’s own website, organic social media, PR, recruitment, internal communications and printed marketing. Wider advertising or third-party use can be discussed before the shoot.

Do you cover areas outside Hitchin?

Yes. I work throughout Hertfordshire, London, the East Midlands and the wider UK. Nearby areas covered include Letchworth, Stevenage, Baldock and St Albans.
