Booking & Pricing
How much do you charge?
Photography pricing varies depending on the type of shoot, location, duration and intended usage. Headshot sessions start from £149, while commercial, event and property photography are quoted based on your specific requirements. If you’re unsure what you need, get in touch and I’ll be happy to provide a tailored quote.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. Most bookings require a deposit to secure the date in my diary. The remaining balance is usually due before or shortly after the shoot, depending on the type of project and agreed terms.
Do you travel outside Hertfordshire?
Absolutely. Although I’m based in Hertfordshire, I regularly work throughout London, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex and across the UK. Travel can often be included within a quotation depending on the location and scope of the project.
Can you travel internationally?
Yes. I have extensive experience photographing destinations, hotels, resorts, excursions and commercial projects overseas. Having previously worked as a Global Photography Manager within the travel industry, international travel assignments are something I’m very comfortable managing.
Are you insured?
Yes. I carry appropriate business insurance, including public liability cover. Documentation can be provided if required by your venue, organisation or client.
How far in advance should I book?
The earlier the better, particularly for busy periods and larger commercial projects. That said, I can often accommodate short-notice bookings, so it’s always worth getting in touch even if your shoot is only a few days away.
Event Photography
What types of events do you photograph?
I photograph conferences, exhibitions, trade shows, networking events, awards ceremonies, product launches, corporate celebrations, charity events and more. Whether it’s a small business gathering or a large-scale conference, I focus on capturing the people, atmosphere and key moments that matter.
How quickly will we receive the images?
Turnaround times vary depending on the size of the event, but most galleries are delivered within a few working days. If you have specific deadlines for PR, marketing or social media, these can be discussed before the event.
Can you provide same-day images?
Yes. Selected images can be edited and delivered during the event or shortly afterwards for use on social media, press releases and internal communications. This is particularly popular for conferences, exhibitions and corporate events.
How many photos will we receive?
There is no fixed limit. I focus on delivering a strong collection of high-quality images that tell the story of the event, rather than restricting clients to a specific number of photographs.
Do you photograph speaker sessions and exhibitions?
Absolutely. Conference coverage often includes keynote speakers, breakout sessions, exhibition stands, networking opportunities, branding, audience engagement and venue details.
Do you work discreetly during events?
Yes. My approach is largely documentary, allowing me to capture genuine moments without interrupting speakers, guests or delegates. Most people quickly forget the camera is there.
Headshots & Personal Branding
I’ve never had professional photos taken. Can you help?
Absolutely. Most people I photograph are not professional models and many tell me they feel nervous beforehand. I’ll guide you throughout the session, helping with posing, expressions and positioning to ensure you look natural and confident.
What should I wear for headshots?
Simple, well-fitting clothing that reflects your personality or profession usually works best. Before your session, I’ll provide guidance to help you choose outfits that photograph well and suit your goals.
Can you photograph my whole team?
Yes. I regularly photograph teams ranging from a handful of staff to entire organisations. Consistent, professional team photography helps create a polished and trustworthy brand image.
Do you offer on-location headshots?
Yes. Headshots can be photographed at your office, workplace, event venue or another suitable location. Portable lighting allows me to create professional results almost anywhere.
Can I choose my favourite images?
Yes. Once your images have been edited, you’ll receive a private online gallery where you can select your included photographs and purchase additional images if required.
Will my headshots be retouched?
Yes. All selected images receive professional editing and retouching to ensure you look your best while still looking like yourself. This includes colour correction, exposure adjustments, temporary skin blemish removal and general portrait enhancements. My aim is natural, polished results that maintain authenticity rather than heavy-handed editing.
Property & Interior Photography
How should I prepare my property for photography?
Decluttering, cleaning and removing unnecessary items will make a significant difference to the final images. Opening curtains, tidying surfaces and ensuring rooms are well presented helps showcase the property at its best.
Do you offer drone photography?
Yes, where weather conditions, airspace restrictions and safety requirements allow. Drone photography can help showcase a property’s setting, plot size and surrounding area.
Do you provide floor plans?
Yes. Floor plans can be included as part of a property marketing package and help potential buyers or tenants better understand the layout and flow of the property.
Do you create property videos?
Yes. I offer property walkthrough videos, social media reels and marketing content designed for estate agents, developers and property businesses.
Can you photograph commercial properties?
Absolutely. In addition to residential homes, I photograph offices, hospitality venues, retail spaces, developments and other commercial properties.
How long does a property photography session take?
Most property shoots take between 60 and 120 minutes, depending on the property's size and the services required. Larger properties, drone photography and video coverage may require additional time.
Travel, Tourism & Destination Photography
Who do you work with?
I work with tourism boards, destinations, hotels, attractions, travel brands, agencies and commercial businesses across the UK and internationally. Every project is tailored to the client’s objectives and target audience.
Can you photograph people as well as locations?
Yes. Some of the most effective travel and commercial photography combines strong locations with authentic human experiences. I regularly photograph both environments and the people interacting within them.
Do you provide content for websites, social media and brochures?
Absolutely. Images can be supplied for websites, advertising campaigns, social media, brochures, press releases, annual reports and a wide range of marketing materials.
Can you work to a specific shot list?
Yes. Many commercial projects involve detailed briefs and shot lists. I’m equally comfortable following a structured plan or working creatively to identify additional opportunities on location.
Do you provide photography for tourism marketing campaigns?
Yes. Having spent many years photographing destinations, excursions and travel experiences, I understand the type of imagery that encourages people to visit, book and engage.
Have you worked with major brands?
Yes. During my career, I’ve created photography for organisations including TUI, RHS, BBC, M&S and numerous commercial brands, agencies and tourism businesses.
Drone Photography
Are you licensed to fly drones commercially?
Yes. I hold the relevant qualifications and insurance required to conduct commercial drone photography and videography in accordance with UK regulations.
Can you fly anywhere?
No. Drone operations are subject to airspace restrictions, weather conditions, safety considerations and local regulations. Every location is assessed before a flight takes place.
What happens if the weather is unsuitable?
Safety always comes first. If conditions are unsuitable, drone photography may need to be postponed or rescheduled to ensure safe and legal operation.
What type of drone photography do you offer?
I provide aerial photography and video for commercial businesses, tourism projects, events, property marketing, construction, estates and promotional campaigns.
Can drone photography be combined with a ground-based shoot?
Yes. Many clients choose to combine aerial imagery with traditional photography and video to create a more complete collection of content.
Will you handle flight planning and permissions?
Yes. Where permissions or airspace authorisations are required, these can be researched and arranged as part of the planning process. Please note that approval is not always guaranteed.
General Questions
How will I receive my photographs?
Images are delivered through a secure online gallery where they can be viewed, downloaded and shared. Galleries are accessible across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
Will the images be edited?
Yes. Every delivered image is professionally edited for colour, exposure, contrast and overall presentation to ensure a polished final result.
Do I receive full usage rights?
Usage rights vary depending on the project and intended use. Most personal and business commissions include broad usage rights, while larger commercial campaigns may require specific licensing agreements.
How long do you keep backups?
Images are archived for a period after delivery, but clients should always download and maintain their own backups. Long-term storage should never be relied upon as a permanent archive solution.
Can you provide images in different sizes and formats?
Yes. Images can be supplied in formats suitable for print, websites, social media, marketing campaigns and other specific requirements.
Can additional images be purchased?
Yes. If your package includes image selections, additional edited photographs can usually be purchased separately. Details will be provided alongside your gallery where applicable.
Do you provide photography throughout the UK?
Yes. Although I’m based in Hertfordshire, I regularly photograph assignments across London, the South East and throughout the UK. Whether you need coverage for a conference, headshot session, property shoot, or commercial project, travel can usually be included in the quotation.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the shoot?
That depends on the type of photography involved. Many shoots can still go ahead, while others may benefit from being rescheduled. If weather is likely to affect the quality of the final images, I’ll discuss the options with you and recommend the best approach.
Can you help with planning and shot lists?
Absolutely. Many clients aren’t entirely sure what photography they need when they first get in touch. I can help plan the shoot, identify priorities and create a shot list that ensures we capture everything required.
What equipment do you use?
I use professional Canon mirrorless cameras, high-quality lenses, professional lighting equipment and drones where appropriate. Equipment is regularly maintained and backed up to ensure reliability on every assignment.
Do you carry backup equipment?
Yes. Professional shoots are never undertaken with a single camera or lens. I always carry backup equipment to minimise the risk of disruption and ensure your project can continue if equipment issues arise.
Can you work to brand guidelines?
Yes. Many corporate and commercial clients have established brand guidelines covering style, colours, image usage and visual consistency. I’m happy to work within existing brand requirements while still creating engaging photography.
Do you work with businesses of all sizes?
Yes. I regularly work with sole traders, small businesses, charities, agencies, national organisations and well-known brands. Every project receives the same level of attention regardless of size.
What information do you need when I enquire?
The more information you can provide, the better. Useful details include the type of photography required, location, preferred dates, expected usage, number of people involved and any specific requirements or deliverables.
Why should I hire a professional photographer instead of using a smartphone?
Modern smartphones are impressive, but professional photography offers a level of quality, consistency, lighting control and attention to detail that is difficult to achieve otherwise. More importantly, hiring a professional allows you and your team to focus on the event, business or project while knowing the photography is being handled properly.
Still Have a Question?
