Hi, I’m Lee, a multi-award-winning Hertfordshire photographer with over 16 years of professional experience creating photography for businesses, brands and people across the UK and internationally.
My work spans corporate events, conferences, headshots, travel and tourism campaigns, property photography and aerial content. Over the years, photography has taken me across five continents, capturing everything from destination experiences and marketing campaigns to business events and commercial projects.
Before launching Lee Charlton Photography, I spent 17 years with TUI, including 9 years as Global Photography Manager. During that time, I was the only in-house photographer supporting a global organisation of more than 70,000 employees, delivering photography for marketing, internal communications, conferences, destination content and brand campaigns around the world.
I’ve worked with organisations including the BBC, National Geographic, McDonald’s, Marks & Spencer, TUI and the Royal Horticultural Society, creating imagery that helps brands tell stories, build trust and connect with their audience.
My style is clean, natural and documentary-led. Whether I’m photographing a conference in London, creating travel content overseas, or capturing portraits closer to home, my aim is always the same: to create authentic, high-quality imagery while making the experience straightforward and enjoyable for the people in front of the camera.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you only work in Hertfordshire?
No. While I’m based in Hertfordshire, I regularly work across London and throughout the UK. I’m also available for international assignments and have been fortunate enough to photograph projects across Europe, the Caribbean, North America and Asia over the years.
What types of photography do you specialise in?
My main areas are corporate events, conferences, headshots, travel and tourism content, property photography and commercial photography. I’ve worked with businesses, brands, charities and organisations of all sizes, creating imagery for marketing campaigns, events, communications and digital content.
Do I need to know how to pose?
Not at all. Most of the people I photograph aren’t professional models and many tell me they’re uncomfortable in front of the camera. Helping people relax and feel confident is a big part of my job, so I’ll guide you as much or as little as needed.
What’s it like to work with you?
Professional, relaxed and straightforward. I take the work seriously, but I don’t believe photoshoots need to feel stiff or intimidating. My aim is to make the experience enjoyable while delivering images that achieve exactly what you need them to.
What’s your favourite type of shoot?
Travel photography will always have a special place in my heart. It combines two things I love - exploring new places and telling stories through images. That said, I get just as much satisfaction from photographing a conference, creating content for a brand, or helping a business put its best foot forward.
What’s the strangest place you’ve photographed?
That’s a difficult one. I’ve photographed from boats in the Caribbean, hiked mountains before sunrise, stood on cliff edges in Ibiza and carried camera gear into places that definitely weren’t designed with photographers in mind.
Iceland probably had some of the strangest, most otherworldly and magical locations I’ve ever photographed - vast black-sand landscapes, waterfalls, glaciers and scenery that barely felt real.
One of the things I love most about this job is that no two days are ever quite the same.
